In a world of dream destinations, Hawaii is the one on the top of my list. Because, well, the whole place seems like a dream, really. However, Hawaii is very far away from Finland so traveling there will require planning, saving, and a long vacation. But it’s definitely worth it, I know that.
Iceland has so much to offer that is absolutely beautiful. The Blue Lagoon, a geothermal spa, is something that you won’t come across often. Snæfellsjökull National Park looks absolutely gorgeous, and a national park I want to hike through. Dynjandi Waterfall truly looks like the jewel of Westfjords — and possibly Iceland. And of course, there is the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights. I have seen the Northern Lights once here in Finland, though, but it was here in the south so they were not the brightest.
3. Rome, Italy
I visited Venice a few years ago, and Venice still remains one of my favorite cities in the world. There is just so much beauty, cultural and historic sights in Venice. But I have never been to Rome (or elsewhere in Italy), and I so want to travel there.
Europe in general has so many amazing historic and cultural attractions, and there are so many in Rome. I mean, the Colosseum, Vatican City, the Pantheon, Trevi fountain, the Sistine Chapel… How amazing do those look? I can’t wait for the day I get to see all those.
4. South Island, New Zealand
I did a semester in a Bible College in New Zealand but that was on the North Island. New Zealand is the most beautiful country I have ever been in, and I want to travel there again so much.
South Island has so many beautiful national parks and other nature attractions. There are mountains, fjords, glaciers — all this is surrounded by lakes and tons of greenery. Honestly, New Zealand is absolutely beautiful, no matter where you end up in there. Milford Sound is on my list, though.
I live in Scandinavia and basically right next to Norway, yet I have yet to travel to Norway. Honestly, I want to change this soon! Norway is unbelievably beautiful, and I have only heard good things about Norway from friends and family who have traveled there.
The Geirangerfjord with its waterfalls and fjords, the Stavanger region with its mountain plateaus like the Preikestolen, and of course Oslo’s cultural sights interest me so much. Norway is, however, pretty expensive. So even a long weekend trip will cost quite a bit. Traveling to Norway seems more than worth the money, though.
This is somehow a little odd to me, as I this is as specific as I get when it comes to Canada. Still, Canada has long been on my list of places I want to travel to. I have actually been to Canada once, when I visited the Niagara Falls and stepped on to the Canada for a bit. But I want to see more as Canada is such a beautiful country.
7. Yosemite National Park, California & Yellowstone National Park
I love national parks. Really, national parks and hiking in them is my thing. Nature can be so breathtaking. Yosemite has been on my “to visit” list for a long while now. My brother lives in California these days, and I’m hoping to visit in California soon. When I do, I so hope to take a few days to go to the Yosemite National Park.
Another national park I would love to visit is the Yellowstone National Park! I have seen so many gorgeous photos taken at the Yellowstone. Really, national parks are my thing and I would love to hike through the Yellowstone as well.
8. The Grand Canyon, Arizona
The Grand Canyon has been on my travel list for so many years now. There is just something about something so big and grand. Of course, I have seen the Grand Canyon in photos and movies. It just seems so gorgeous.
9. The Emerald Isle, Ireland
The Emerald Isle, and the Ireland in general. When I think of Ireland, I think of green fields and sheep. I think of small country cottages and the food and funny accents. But I also picture the beautiful country — and the Emerald Isle is absolutely breathtaking, based on photos I have seen. I so want to travel there one day.
10. Machu Picchu, Peru
This one might not need any explanations. It just seems like such an interesting travel destination!
What places are on your travel bucket list? I would love to hear because I’m always looking for more inspiration.
