Book Review: She’s Still There by Chrystal Evans Hurst
What can you do when you suddenly realize that the life you are leading isn’t what you wanted it to be? What are you supposed to do when you realize you have wandered away from what matters? These are the questions that Chrystal Evans Hurst answers in her book, She’s Still There. She has walked through a lot and through those raw stories, we know — that she understands. She gets it.
We all need encouragement. We all need to know that we are not the only ones in this situation. And we need someone to believe in us, to tell us that it will still be alright. And that is what Chrystal Evans Hurst does in this book.
Maybe a bit to my surprise, I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the writing style of Chrystal Evans Hurts. She had me chuckling at points, while very much nodding my head right on the next paragraph. This book was easy to read, yet every chapter had good insight and wisdom.
I loved that every chapter ended with a reflection part — where there was something to remember, something to reflect upon, and something to respond to. There were also Bible verse provided to further study on your own. I loved that. I loved that I got to see that all of this came from the Word of God. But I think we also need those promptings for reflection, to help us with our struggles and moving on. I would recommend this book for anyone who feels lost with where they are in life right now.
