Hi friends! Happy April! Can you believe it’s already April? (I feel like I say that about every month, though…) We had a snow storm here in Finland a couple of days ago, so it really doesn’t feel like spring or April at all.

Today I am joining Anne In Residence once again to share some things from my life with you. I would love for you to join us and link up as well, friend!

Showering my plants with love these days. For the past eight months, I have been working two hours away from my hometown, which means that I haven’t spent much time at home. So I right on killed two plants, and it just made me sad. Now that I am settling back, I am investing in my plants again. Honestly, I love it.

Cultivating a habit of taking better care of myself. Right now this means that I have taken up running again. I injured my ankle a couple years ago. Because of the injury, I have been running on and off — mainly having to stop when my ankle starts hurting again. So now I am making myself go slow, adding up miles on a very slow basis every week. I hope this way my ankle take the mileage better. I kind of secretly wish that I would be able to run a 10K this summer; but I will have to see how my ankle will hold up.

Expecting a busy month ahead. I am wrapping up my current job, and start a new one in less than two weeks. On top of that, I am graduating this month and therefore holding a graduation party at the end of the month. Whew!

Making prayer a priority this month. Though I pray every day, it’s been a while since I last focused on intentionally developing my relationship with the Lord in prayer. With all these changes in my life coming up, now is an important time for me to surrender everything to the Lord in prayer.

Buying all the fresh flowers for myself right now. I love spring for all the fresh flowers that come into the stores. White tulips are a favorite right now — always, really. Carnations will come soon as well, and I end up falling in love with carnations every year.

What are you currently showering, cultivating, expecting, making or buying? Share below in the comments!

  1. Yay for running again! That’s awesome! Running is something that always feels SO good when I am done, but I just can’t get myself to want to do it. I workout at home instead right now.

    1. I so feel the same, Bri! It’s just so hard to actually go for it but once I’m running, I’m loving it. Workouts at home are a great option, too!

  2. I’ve had to do the back-and-forth on running due to injury as well, and it’s such a pain! But it sounds like you’re doing it the smart way, taking it slowly, even if you do have some goals and aspirations. Be smarter than me and just enjoy the process 🙂 And yes to tulips, always! Any color, really, but the white ones really are so pretty.

    1. Thank you, Anne! We’ll have to see how smart I’ll end up being, usually I can be quite impatient haha… Thank you for visiting here once again, Anne!

    1. Thank you, Lauren! Right now slow and steady is definitely my motto — let’s hope that it will eventually even get me into the race, haha!

  3. Ugh I am so sick of snow, we had a late snowstorm last weekend as well (I’m in western Canada).I am also with you on the expecting a busy month, I’m starting a new job in a couple weeks as well!

    1. Totally with you there, Sam, with being fed up with snow! We finally have some warmer days coming up so hopefully most of the snow will clear away. Also, good luck with your new job!!

  4. I’m so with you on making time for prayer. I’m reading A Praying Life by Paul Miller right now and I would highly recommend it if you are looking for additional resources. 🙂

    1. Thank you for the recommendation, Jacqueline! I haven’t read it but I will add it to me to-read-list for sure! Thank you and God bless you!

  5. I’m currently cultivating carnations in my flower garden right now. They were my grandmother’s favorite flower. I had no idea they would thrive in our climate, but they are beginning to bloom. I think fresh flowers are my love language! #MomentsofHope

    1. That sounds so wonderful! Carnations are such resilient flowers, I think — and they are so pretty, too! Thank you for stopping by here and taking the time to comment, friend.
