Gracefull Tuesday

Happy Tuesday, friend! Things are rather hard and busy on my end for various reasons right now. To fight weariness and bitterness, I decided to list out some things I’m grateful for these days. Then I thought to share them with you. Maybe share some things you are grateful for with me? I would love to hear!

  1. Church family that loves me and makes me laugh, no matter how hard the day or season. My people are pure gold, and I am so lucky to have such a family.
  2. Fall baking. I’m definitely very much into baking these days. Just yesterday I made small batch banana muffins because I had one very brown banana sitting on the counter. Those turned out delicious and made me happy!
  3. Sweater weather. I love summer but knit tops and jeans are my favorite. I’m so happy I get to wear all those now.
  4. Fall colors. All those trees turning red are just so beautiful.
  5. This song. Like I said, it’s a hard season for many reasons. Yet God is reminding me that this truly, is just a season. Seasons change and this will eventually come to an end.
  6. Growing. I’m seeing some growth happening in myself. But more than that, I’m seeing growth happening in my friends, in my church family, in ministries I’m involved in — and this is a wonderful thing. I’m so thankful that God is growing us and working in and through us.
  7. God’s Word.ย There are days when it’s hard for me to pray, to open up all that is in my heart. But God’s Word holds answers to everything.

  1. So sorry, Ronja, to hear that things are bleak in your world right now, but am standing up right here and applauding your list of gratitude to fight back against the sense of loss and discouragement.
It’s 39 degrees here this morning, and I was feeling a bit grumpy about that until I read your thoughts on fall clothing–which I really do prefer. So thanks for the infectious positive attitude!

  2. Isn’t it amazing what we see when we choose gratitude. It feels like gratitude has become a bit of a buzz word in recent years and I tend to view it as one more thing I “should” be doing. Thank you for reminding me that the “should” doesn’t matter, the heart matters.

    1. Gratitude really is such a wonderful thing, Becky. But you are so right. It seems to be “in” right now and so everyone “should” be doing it. But honestly, it does change my heart!

  3. Ronja, I’m sorry you’re going through such a difficult time but I’m so glad you found so many blessings to be grateful for. Today I’m reflecting on the past year and all that we’ve been through following last year’s devastating hurricane season. After the first major storm there was not a leaf or flower in sight, they were all blown away by the terrifying winds. Now, a year later I can step out of my door and find the most beautiful wild flowers growing and thriving. It’s a great reminder that we serve a powerful, faithful and merciful God.

I’m believing for you today that while things might be hard and painful, you will find yourself singing and rejoicing again. The storm never lasts forever!

    1. Thank you so much for sharing this with me, Marva, and giving me such hope with that beautiful image! Our God truly is such a wonderful and powerful God. He can turn everything into good in His mercy and grace. Thank you for stopping by here and encouraging me so! God bless you

  4. Thinking about gratitude is a wise and mature way to combat the blues. It changes your whole perspective and reminds us of what is important. Topping my gratitude list is my family, especially time I get to spend with my grandsons. The maple-glazed doughnut I had for breakfast has to be close to the top of my list too! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Hi Ronja,
Gratitude is always good for the heartitude! My two posts above are things I’m grateful for :-D… But no.1 is my relationship with the Father through His Son Jesus, nothing else compares e especially in those hard times! ๐Ÿ˜€

  6. Ronja, I missed linking up last week and came this morning and read this post. I am sorry you and your family are going through a hard time. Praying for you all this morning. So grateful God promises, “”When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles” (Ps. 34:17). May you remember this morning our God cannot lie and He cannot forget the promises He has mde. And so, He will be faithful and He will deliver you in His time. Blessings!
