Weekly Grace and Links
Hi friends! This week I am vacationing in Madeira, Portugal — and it is quite amazing, this thing called rest. I am enjoying sunshine and being by the ocean, hiking, resting, and reading. I am enjoying life, and I am so thankful for our good Father who gives us so much more than we even dare to ask. He is so good to us.
Good reads from this week:
This piece on does dating prepare us for marriage or divorce left me thinking for a long, long time. It was honestly a great read and I would recommend it for anyone to read in a heartbeat — whether you are single, married, or divorced. There are always people in our lives, if not ourselves, who need to hear this.
My Joy in the Desert. Christians can rejoice in the trials, because Christians find more of God there. “God uses suffering to strengthen and purify our faith in his promises like nothing else. What we hold faithfully through trials, we are more likely to hold in the face of temptation.”
Love That Doesn’t Cost Is Just A Feeling. Yes, love will always cost us — but not loving people costs us even more. Which is why it is so important for us to remember that love that doesn’t cost anything is just a feeling.
Have you ever felt let down by God? Wondered why God is always silent? What Good Is God? by Vaneetha Rendall Risner is a good read for anyone in that place right now.
