Following Jesus & GraceFull Tuesday Link-Up

Following Jesus is a process. Though we get a new heart, the change within us is a process. We do not get all that we want right away — it comes through weeks and months and years of walking with God, of praying and meditating on Scripture and growing. Jesus calls us to come to Him and follow Him — and then we will see and learn great things. We will witness miracles — in others and their lives and most importantly, in us.

Oswald Chambers wrote, “Gracious uncertainty is the mark of the spiritual life. To be certain of God means that we are uncertain in all our ways, we do not know what a day may bring forth.”

Friend — slow progress is still progress. Though you are in the waiting now, does not mean that nothing is happening. Waiting is where we meet God, for we must let go of our own expectations.

So following Jesus is a process. As always, it seems that these processes come with uncertainty. Mainly because we don’t get to control the situations or circumstances. But it is a gracious uncertainty, as Oswald Chambers described it. We learn to trust God. We learn to truly leave it all into His hands and at His feet. May you be blessed as you follow Jesus and follow after His heart.
