GraceFull Tuesday Link-Up

Hi friends! Happy Tuesday!

GraceFull Tuesday

I am once again sick, down with a cold. I was well for one week but it seems like I caught another cold. Well, that is what life is like when you work with kids! In any case, just popped in to say hi and to host the GraceFull Tuesday Link-Up for you all.

Now, the photo this week is St. Michael’s Church here in Turku, Finland. It is easily my favorite church building in town as it is just so beautiful inside and outside. This is a newer church in the city, finished in 1905. (Our oldest church is actually the Turku Cathedral, which was built in the 13th century.) I had the opportunity to visit St. Michael’s Church a couple weeks ago when my pastor preached a sermon. I grew up Lutheran but I don’t really feel any connection to the Lutheran church, despite having been baptized as a baby and then went through confirmation and all. When I was saved, I joined my home church (which I still go to), which is a non-denominational church.

All that is to say, I don’t visit Lutheran churches often. But I was very happy to visit St. Michael’s Church since it is my favorite church building here. How about you, friend? What church do you go to? Do you visit these kind of beautiful church buildings often?

  1. I love a beautiful church building. My church meets in an industrial park, so when I see a beautiful one it makes me so happy. Especially living in New England in the fall.

  2. Sorry you’re not feeling well. Hope you’re better soon. Colds can be tricky. We feel better yet we’re not actually better so we get up and get going only to be knocked down again. Rest, rest, and rest some more then rest a little more until you are fully back to 100%.

    1. Yvonne, you are so describing me here! I always rush back into the busyness of life too quickly and don’t wait until I’m actually better. So I often get one cold after another. I definitely should learn to truly rest! Thank you for this. God bless you!

  3. That is a lovely old building! Here in New England we run more toward white buildings with a steeple, and that’s what my home church is like. I do love visiting other churches.

  4. How beautiful! We have a few beautiful churches here in Indiana. My husband and I took a tour of a few when we were looking for a church to get married in. It was a fun excuse to get some private tours!

  5. I love old church buildings of every sort. Last year I read Eric Metaxas’ book on Luther so would have found visiting St. Michael’s especially interesting. Thanks for hosting and get well soon!

  6. So funny to read this post as I recently took photos of an old Lutheran church and am in the process of writing my thoughts on it. Hope you get to feeling better soon!

  7. I love beautiful churches but don’t make a point to visit. Maybe I should! My church has Baptist roots but is non-denominational. That seems to be the trend more and more. Thanks for hosting and hope you feel better soon.
