Kindness of God & GraceFull Tuesday Link-Up

Lately I have been thinking about kindness and especially the kindness of God. There is something about kindness, something different. So often we describe people and things being nice, yet kind is something so different. Something beautiful, comforting, and lovely.

“The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying:
“Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love;
Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.”
(Jeremiah 31:3)

Sometimes we can wrestle with the kindness of God. We walk through trials and suffering, wondering whether this really is what a kind God would want for us. Maybe we go through a season of sorrow, one after another, and we wonder what kindness is there left.

But truly, God shows His loving kindness towards us in so many ways.

He walks with us through the fire and keeps us from drowning in the stormy waters. It would be enough to help us survive there. Yet He teaches us the greatest things and carries our hurting hearts with such tender hands.

He welcomes us home, no matter how many times we have wandered away. Maybe we wandered for years or maybe just for a few weeks. In the end, it does not matter to Him. He welcomes us back just the same, every single time. We are His children, after all.

He faithfully meets with us and speaks to us, in the big cares and the small worries of our lives. He carries our worries and fears, our sorrow and tears. And He walks with us every single step of the way, faithfully helping us

It might not always be so easy to see the kindness of God in our lives. Yet it is there, in every step and in every season. And He loves us so much.

  1. Your post reminds me of something I read recently about prayer. I just can’t remember where, possibly someone else’s blog. That God answers our prayers the way we would if we knew everything He does. I think it’s the same with His kindness. It doesn’t always feel that way to us, but He sees so much that we never will! Thanks for sharing and hosting!
